Car Hire Orlando International Airport

Having your own rented car in Orlando, Florida, will allow you the opportunity to explore the amazing theme parks or shops at the giant shopping malls with ease, and in your own time. Drive your rented car to Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World or down to Orlando’s beautiful beaches and secluded bays.

At Orlando Airport, the car rental companies can be found in Terminal A and B, on Level 1, at Ground Transportation. Some of the major companies operating directly from the airport include Avis, Alamo, Budget, Thrifty, National and E-Z Rent-a-car. Additional car rental companies are situated nearby the airport, and courtesy shuttles are available to these off-site rental locations. Some of the companies found here are Hertz Car Rental, Payless, Ace Rent-A-Car and American Car Rental.

Persons of 25 years or older will not incur any surcharges or higher insurance costs on a rented vehicle. Certain types of vehicles are not allowed to be rented by somebody younger than 25 years of age. The minimum age required for car hire is 21 years old in the U.S.A. It is best to check with your rental company for any restrictions or extra charges if you are between the ages of 21 and 25.

There are generally four kinds of basic rates charged by rental companies. They may charge a daily rate with a mileage charge, a daily rate with a certain amount of free miles per day or a daily rate with unlimited mileage. You may also select a rate that has free mileage over an extended period. Ensure that your quoted price is all-inclusive to avoid any unexpected extras added to your rental budget.

Car Rental Tips

Always inspect the car before driving away. Familiarize yourself with the car and make sure that everything works correctly. Any damages found should be noted by an employee and a description of the damages written on your contract. You do not want to be held liable for damages caused by someone else. The basic car functions that could be checked are the brakes, headlights, turn signals, windshield wipers, audio and heating systems, electric windows, tire pressure, oil/water levels and amount of gas available. The interior and exterior of the car should be checked for cosmetic damages.

Make sure that you have a contact number in case of an accident or breakdown. Find out if the rental company offers any roadside assistance.

Save on car rental insurance fees by finding out if your existing personal auto insurance is applicable to a rented vehicle, or if there is any coverage offered by charging the rental to a major credit card.

Save on gasoline charges by filling the tank yourself before returning the car. A rental company’s gasoline charges are usually at an inflated rate. If you don’t mind the charges and are in a hurry, it can always be arranged that the rental company fills the tank

Some useful extra options for your rental car may be a Sat Nav system to help find your way around Orlando or child seats as safety precautions. When collecting your rental car, always have your ID and drivers license available.
